Safety, health and the environment are key themes in the company’s history and culture

The location of the industrial site provides one more reason to be particularly attentive to environmental protection: the 1,500,000 square metres of our plants stretch out between the surrounding towns and hills. The toll-free number activated by Acciai Speciali Terni to answer citizens’ questions concerning environmental issues, the project of re-naturalisation of the slag area which will become a green area open to the city and the international tender to find a final solution for recycling the slag resulting from stainless steel manufacture are just some of the latest company projects concerning these issues.

Focus on the working environment, health and safety.

Our company has undertaken numerous safety initiatives, with particular emphasis on accident prevention and improving workplace conditions. In the area of health, the Company Mutual Fund and the corporate Health System are the tools available to employees for healthcare support.

AST considers the health and safety of its employees – as well as collaborators, suppliers and external contractors – a priority objective. The company works to ensure high safety standards, including through an Occupational Health and Safety Management System compliant with ISO 45001:2018, covering 100% of employees.
