OUR COMPANY HAS ALWAYS BEEN VERY CONCERNED IN SAFETY, HEALTH AND ENVIRONMENT. THESE TOPICS HAVE SUCH DEEP ROOTS WITHIN OUR CORPORATE PHILOSOPHY THAT THEY HAVE BECOME PART OF THE CULTURE OF EACH OF OUR EMPLOYEES

The location of the industrial site provides one more reason to be particularly attentive to environmental protection: the 1,500,000 square metres of our plants stretch out between the surrounding towns and hills. The toll-free number activated by Acciai Speciali Terni to answer citizens’ questions concerning environmental issues, the project of re-naturalisation of the slag area which will become a green area open to the city and the international tender to find a final solution for recycling the slag resulting from stainless steel manufacture are just some of the latest company projects concerning these issues.

THE SUSTAINABILITY REPORT OF ACCIAI SPECIALI TERNI

Sustainability is a value for Acciai Speciali Terni and, at the same time, a strategy. For this reason, even though it is not included among the subjects for which the law provides for this requirement, the Company has decided to draw its Sustainability Report: a choice of transparency and social responsibility towards stakeholders and the territory.

AST considers sustainability a value because it wants to contribute to the growth of an economy on a human scale, to the protection of the environment and ecological balance, to strengthen social cohesion, in a manner consistent with the sustainable development objectives indicated by the Agenda 2030 of the United Nations.

The same attention we give to the environment is dedicated to the health and safety of workers

During recent years, our company has undertaken a number of initiatives in the field of safety, particularly as concerns the prevention of accidents and the improvement of workplace conditions. In terms of health, the Cassa Mutua Aziendale and the Sistema di Salute aziendale (Company Sickness Insurance Scheme) are the tools available to employees in relation to health care.
