Acciai Speciali Terni takes care of the health of its employees since its origins. Already in the early years of the ‘900 the company set up the Institute of Physical Therapy for the care of its workers, which was praised as the “first among all industrial companies, and still unique today in Italy, which resolutely provided the beneficial solution of such a complex problem. ” In 1968 the Cassa Mutua Aziendale (corporate mutual health association) was set up to provide supplementary and improved medical services compared to those provided for by the National Health Service. Today, the wards and offices of Cassa Mutua Aziendale are located in Viale B. Brin, near the plant, in a building that represents a logistic-organizational health model in line with the standards of the best health facilities. AST employees can take advantage of dental services, instrumental diagnostics, specialist visits and physiotherapy services, having advanced medical technologies and a continually adequate structure to offer a highly professional service.
SPORT AND LEISURE
The history and tradition of the Terni Workers Club (CLT) are evidence of the indissoluble bond that has always linked CLT and Acciai Speciali Terni with the city. Since its establishment, CLT is unique in our country. From the most varied artistic and cultural events organized for the city, to excursions and trips, to the intense work of sport promotion, its activities represent an important point of reference for the families of Terni. In these 90 years, the presence of CLT in the recreational, cultural and sports sectors has grown, as well as the initiatives offered to the entire city. An example is the complete redevelopment, in 2014, of the swimming pools, today a fundamental gathering place for young people and families during the summer, 5-a-side football pitches and tennis courts with synthetic turf and clay courts, the gym for volleyball, fitness gym, gymnastics gym, up to the latest padel courts and summer camps that host children from 3 to 14 years old from June to September. Here, those taking part have the opportunity to choose a sport and be followed by a qualified trainer, as well as learning the importance of motor development thanks to targeted meetings with specialized personnel. An important reference point in the city, CLT spreads sports culture and socialization through healthy competition and fun.
Thanks to the “Welfare Plan“, AST employees have access to a web platform, ast.welfare.it, through which they can use the welfare credits envisaged by the CCLN in the metalworking sector.
